Wayfinding Survey: Participant Information

Your participation in this study will contribute to improving our understanding of how people select routes and how they interpret signs within buildings and hence improve building safety

The Questionnaire consists of three parts:

PART 1:

In the first part of the questionnaire you will be asked five demographic questions.

PART 2:

In the second part you will be asked to select a path leading to an exit in a hypothetical building. There are four questions in Part 2.

PART 3:

In the third part of the questionnaire you will be asked to identify the main factors that influenced your path selection decisions. There are two questions in Part 3

PART 4:

In the fourth part of the questionnaire you will be asked to describe what you think several different signs mean and to rate your agreement on the specified meaning of the signs. There are nineteen questions in part 4.
