The AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE survey is part of the GATEway (Greenwich Automated Transport Environment) project. GATEway is an £8 million project funded by Innovate UK and Industry. It is a technology driven project that aims to demonstrate the safe and efficient integration of sophisticated automated transport systems into complex real world smart city environments. The project is based in the Royal Borough of Greenwich in London.

As part of the project, this survey questionnaire is designed to collect information from the general public concerning the perception of the autonomous vehicles, which are ‘driverless cars’ controlled automatically by onboard computer. Your participation in this study will contribute to improving our understanding of how people may interact with autonomous vehicles. Thanks for taking part in this study.

The questionnaire

  • You will be asked to fill out this short questionnaire.
  • Most of the questions in the questionnaire will ask how you, as a pedestrian or a passenger, may perceive and interact with the autonomous vehicles.
  • The questionnaire consists of two parts. The entire process should take about 5 to 10 minutes of your time.
  • Please note that there are no right or wrong answers. We simply want to measure your opinions.

Your answers

  • Your answers to the questionnaire will be stored and analysed by us.
  • We will keep the data for research purposes and some of the analysed data may be published and shown in public fora. However, your anonymity is assured.

Right to withdraw

  • The questionnaire survey involves a few simple questions which should present no difficulties to you. However, if at any time you wish to withdraw from the survey, you can simply close the window/tab of the webpage and no data will be sent.
