Solid fuel combustion.

• Introduce “simple” solid fuel combustion concept into fire field models through the PYROLYSIS CONCEPT.

• Fire field model now consists of :

  • CFD component for heat, mass and momentum conservation,
  • Gaseous combustion model e.g. eddy dissipation model,
  • Radiation model e.g. six-flux or discrete transfer model,
  • Solid phase pyrolysis model, (solid fuel is discretised)
  • Soot generation and Char models

• Even relatively simple models provide the means of modelling complex situations.
