Solid fuel combustion example 1 2-D compartment.
Consider a simple two-dimensional compartment with a ceiling lined with plywood fuel.
Gas burner located at floor level adjacent to rear wall.
Consider two scenarios, one in which the door is “open” throughout simulation and the other in which the door is “closed” through most of simulation and opened at the end of the simulation.
Model consists of:
- CFD component for heat, mass and momentum conservation,
- Gaseous combustion model i.e. eddy dissipation model,
- Radiation model i.e. six-flux model, and
- Solid phase pyrolysis model,
