The SMARTFIRE
Scenario Designer provides a CAD-like interface for the
specification of whole building geometries. The user can
work on layers of the building using a 2D design area
which overlays a floor plan diagram layer that can be
imported from a CAD DXF floor plan diagram. The Scenario
Designer also incorporates a room location utility to
help find the "rooms" within the floor plan. Other
objects can be added to the building plan to create a
scenario. Once the scenario is complete, a SMARTFIRE
model file is created which is then passed to the SMARTFIRE
Case Specification Environment for advanced
configuration (e.g. physics options, transient effects,
detailed object configuration) and meshing.
The following example shows a walkthrough of a theatre
building that has been constructed for fire spread
modelling and evacuation studies.
