SMARTFIRE: Fire Simulation modelling using an integrated CFD Environment with Knowledge Based Reasoning.

SMARTFIRE is a fire field model developed within the Fire Safety Engineering Group at the University of Greenwich.

SMARTFIRE is a software-engineered environment that employs state-of-the-art finite volume methods on an unstructured mesh.  The aim of SMARTFIRE is to make Fire Field Modelling techniques accessible to non-Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) experts; such as fire fighters, architects or safety engineers and to produce a useful tool for research and consultative applications in fire safety engineering.  To achieve these aims SMARTFIRE has been based on an open architecture integrated CFD code with integrated knowledge based system.
