SMARTFIRE (PROTOTYPE) MESH MORPHING TOOL

The SMARTFIRE Mesh Morphing Tool allows expert users to incorporate simple curves (or other simple mesh shaping morphs) into a pre-existing structured mesh. The user can morph a surface of cell vertices (ensuring that no overlaps occur) and then distribute the near region of vertices to give acceptable cell shapes. This process is not automated and can require careful planning and staged implementation in order to perform valid moves whilst maintaining acceptable cell quality. This facility is most useful for the creation of simple tunnel geometries or for modelling a domed, apex or curved roof. This tool is still a prototype version and, as such, it is not recommended for novice use.
